In this performance, installation, and participatory interaction – viewers are given permission to watch and stare at the artist as he attempts to tie a tie. Afterwards, they tie one on each other. Conversation themes included: gender, disability, ableism, permission to fail, and shame.
Wes Holloway is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores identity, presentation of disability, and LGBTQ+ cultural preservation/celebration. Wes holds his BA and BFA in Studio Art from The University of Texas at Austin, and an MFA in Social Practice from The George Washington University.
