A street event to bring awareness of the temporary nature of our lives. Tamara Wyndham will be writing a poem on the sidewalks in water using a brush. The words will evaporate naturally from the sun and the air, leaving no mark.

The poem is about loss; and the evaporation of the words is an analogy of loss. The poem is written very simply because of how it will be written and viewed on the sidewalk. No trace of the performance is left once the words evaporate. This performance also addresses the issue of the climate crisis.

Tamara Wyndham has been awarded artist residencies at the Henry Street Settlement, the Kate Millett Art Colony, the Vermont Studio Center, the Mariz Ceramic Workshop in the Czech Republic, Fundación Valparaíso in Mojácar, Spain, and an artist’s fellowship from Earthwatch to work in Orce, Spain.
